CONSULTANCY & ADVICE
Help to understand your garden and troubleshoot problems.
Garden maintenance - full range of garden maintenance services, including mowing, strimming, trimming and tidy-ups. I also offer autumn and spring lawn 'weed & feed' treatments and scarification (for small and medium sized lawns only).
Planting - site preparation and planting of shrubs, trees and tender plants - I can provide help and advice on what plants will work well in your garden and source and supply them too. I also make bespoke summer & winter hanging baskets, as well as displays for containers and troughs, so drop me a line if you'd like something made.
Pruning & hedge-cutting - the pruning of woody plants, shrubs and fruit trees needs to be done properly and at the right time of year. This to keep plants in shape and to ensure healthy, new growth and optimal fruit and flower production. Similarly, different types of hedges are trimmed at different times of year to help them stay looking good and within bounds.
Garden design - have a rough idea of how you want your garden to look but not entirely sure how to turn it into a reality? Hand-drawn designs and planting plans can give you a much better picture of how your garden could look. Drawings are also very useful for landscapers or contractors you choose to use for any hard-landscaping, giving them a blueprint to work from rather than start.
Grow your own - fancy the idea of growing your own, either in the garden or at an allotment? Not sure where to begin? Then you've come to the right place. Fruit & veg growing was what first sparked my interest in horticulture and I've got a real interest and passion in getting more people growing healthy, sustainable produce. If you want to learn how to do it and get tips on what crops might work best for you, then drop me a line via the contacts page.
Consultancy & advice sessions - in person in the garden or over video call from the comfort of your own home. One hour (or up to a half-day if required) sessions aimed at giving you the tools and know-how to improve your garden or tackle any problem areas. This can include, but is not limited to: how to select the right plants; garden layout; site conditions and aspect of your garden; soil texture and structure; drainage; pests & diseases; hard and soft landscaping ideas; fruit & veg growing. These sessions are a great way to properly discuss any challenges you have in a relaxed and informal way, helping to set you off in the right direction and potentially saving you money in the long-run.
